In the 30th Anniversary Events of the German Foundation in Ankara, H.E. Mr. Christian Wulff, the 10th President of the Federal Republic of Germany and H.E. Mr. Mesut Yılmaz, the Former Prime Minister of Turkey participated as Guests of Honour among the other distinguished guests. The panel taking place within the scope of the events hosted the academics from the Middle East Technical University (renowned as ODTÜ), the Gazi University, Hacettepe University and Başkent University as well. The participants discussed the German-Turkish Relations in terms of the economic, social, cultural and political dimensions and shared their related views accordingly. 

H.E. Mr. Wulff, the distinguished politician from the Christian Democratic Union (CDU) and the Former President of the Federal Germany, taken office from 2010 to 2012, made a great appearance during the event. Mr. Wulff, the Guest of Honour, whose frank utterances during his tenure in Germany such as the statement ‘’Islam is an integral part of Germany’’ triggered both a brisance and received appreciations in Germany and as well as around the globe. With all his sincerity, Mr. Wulff voiced his statements regarding the German-Turkish and EU-Turkey Relations underlying his standby for Turkey and continuous support for Turkish public. 

Mr. Şamil Ayrım, who was elected as deputy, respectively for Iğdır and Istanbul, in the 20th and 21st office terms at the Turkish National Assembly acts recently as the finance executive of the Marmara Group Foundation. During the event of the Konrad Adenauer Foundation, Mr. Ayrım had also the opportunity to have talked tête-à-tête to both Guests of Honor and have shared his views about the global and regional issues with them.
