 Recep Tayyip Erdoğan Takes over Turkey’s Presidency

Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, was elected as the President of Turkey in the presidential election which was held on June 24, 2018, proceeded to the official ceremony attended by the 50 foreign leaders at the presidential complex in Ankara's Beştepe district after he took oath of office in July 9,2018 at the Grand National Assembly of Turkey. He started his speech with a prayer and said "I am begging My God as in the first day which I was announced as a candidate for presidency. Then Erdoğan continued his words as following: "The people chose us on June 24. We will try to be worthy of our nation with the awareness that we are the president not only of those who voted for us, but all 81 million citizens of Turkey. Today, we are making a fresh start. In this new era, I hope we will take the steps for the reforms to be realized with our cabinet by working together.” Şamil Ayrım, Deputy President of the Marmara Group Foundation and Member of Parliament from Istanbul and Dr. Fatih Saraçoğlu, Secretary General of the Marmara Group Foundation also participated in the oath ceremony.
