Chinese Overseas Friendship Association visits the Marm

Chinese Overseas Friendship Association (COFA) visited the Marmara Group Foundation.

Lead by Yang Bingjan, COFA delegation comprised of Xu Guixiang, Wu Jinguang, Peng Yanxia and Zhai Chaoqun were hosted by the Marmara group team including President Dr. Akkan Suver, Dr. Fatih Saraçoğlu, Cafer Okray, Ertuğrul Kumcuoğlu, Lale Aytanç Nalbant and Atty. Ercüment Güvercin.

The agenda included exploration of the ways the two NGOs can collaborate as well as an exchange of opinions on cultural and economic affairs. The visiting delegation inquired about the Marmara Group Foundation's perspective on future of China and the future of the Turkish-Chinese relations.

Marmara Group Foundation bringing up the important role the that the trade relations with China play on the National Current Account Deficit of Turkey suggested that this could be remedied with increased investment and tourism to Turkey. The Chinese delegation stated that after having come here to see, they are faced with a much better Turkey than what is depicted in the media and that it is very hospitable to travel and investments. Highlighting the big market opportunity that China presents to companies of international competitive advantage, the visiting delegation emphasized the place Turkish manufacturing and industry may play in this regard. Marmara Group Foundation members also mentioned that an amelioration of the visa processing and easing of the requirements and would further help developing the economic ties between Turkey and China.

Marmara Group Foundation emphasized the significance of the role of NGOs could play in Turkish-Chinese relations and the Chinese counterparts underlined the value of joint efforts in the growing Silk Road initiative.

In this meeting that adjourned with wishes of peace and sustainable friendships between the two countries, Marmara Group Foundation also extended the invite to the 20th Eurasian Summit.
