On behalf of the Marmara Group Foundation, Dr. Akkan Suver expressed his best wishes for Christmas, that is celebrated by the Syrian Orthodox world. On the occasion of the Christmas Feast of the Catholic and Orthodox Syrians in Istanbul, Dr. Suver visited each Syriac Catholic Patriarch Deputy Chief Archbishop Mgr. Orhan Çanlı and Syriac Orthodox Communion Spiritual Reverend and Deputy Patriarch Metropolitist Purple Filuxinos Yusuf Çetin in their offices to express his wishes for Christmas. Dr. Suver's message is as follows: "We wish a merry Christmas to our Christian citizens of different sects and traditions and to the believers of Christianity in the world. As sons of a geography that has hosted different religions and cultures down the ages, we believe that the wealth of our various religious feasts is indispensable to our unity. We wish that Christmas will be an opportunity for the development of the solidarity climate and for the opening of the gates of peace. We wish all Christians, especially our Syrian Orthodox citizens a merry Christmas."
