President of Marmara Foundation Dr. Akkan Suver attended to "5. Think Tanks Forum of the OIC Countries", organized by TASAM in Baghdad and made a speech on multi-polar world system. In the session moderated by Stephane Monney Mouandjo, Nuray Mert, Mehmet Ali Edipoğlu, Dr. Ahmad Rasim Al-Nafees and Ilia Abbas also shared their opinions.

Text of Dr. Akkan Suver's Speech

"First of all I would like to start my remarks with greeting you with respect on behalf of the Marmara Group Foundation, a leading civil society organization of Turkey.

In one short paragraph, Marmara Group Foundation is a 29 years old civil society organization.

It has been successfully organizing the Eurasian Economic Summits for the last seventeen years. Again it has been continuing inter-cultural and inter-religious dialogue for the past nineteen years.

While I convey my statement from this platform to your high delegation, with your permission, some part of Marmara Group Foundation's efforts will appear on the screen.

I want to start my speech as I once again salute you on behalf of my Turkish friends and Turkish civil initiative.

Today our subject is the challenges of developing unique policies in a multi polar world system.

I personally think the opposite of this statement.

To me, if totality can be achieved on some fundamental issues, it is possible to develop unique policies in a multi polar world system.

Before we proceed to examples, a totality must be ensured in some fundamental principles as well.

Economic and monetary unity are the most essential ones of these fundamental principles. Justice and common internal affairs philosophy follow this. The last sine qua non principle is common policies on internal and external security.

All of these are the basic rules of developing authentic and genuine policies in a globalized world system.

These main rules are not being shaped by above-the-nations totality but being shaped in an international unity instead.

Of course there are powers in the world.

There are priorities between powers and equals. Today United States of America is a global power. And holds a precedence among the powers. China is a global power. Russia is another global power. European Union is another power that acts as an assurance for global peace and security.

In United States, Latin Americans, Africans, European and Asians are together. Orthodox, Catholic and Protestant Christians, Jews and Muslims are sharing a global wealth under the same roof with producing authentic policies. This is a genuine model of globalism.

China, has been living with a crowded population for centuries. They too experiencing a unique model of globalization. The Russian Federation is another global power which in its borders accommodates millions from different racial, ethnic and religious background.

These examples are actors who has unique global policies within the unity of a state.

The newly formed globalization on the other hand has been established by the gathering of 28 different countries with their own will and is yet to have another similar example. That is European Union.

European Union is the best example of how to develop authentic policies in a multi polar world system. In European Union a community of multi cultured, religious, lingual and nations live together in harmony through producing and implementing genuine policies. European Union, which withstands the threats and risks together and approaches to the opportunities in unity is the most important example of unique policies in a global totality we can see in our age.

In a broader extend, the rising market economies are managing to balance important economic progress in global conditions.

The solution to the demolishing poverty and inequality lays in the productivity of the authentic policies within global unities.

Furthermore, prosperity and wealth in democracy can find ground more easily and realisticly under global conditions.

Western countries are sustaining individual policies peacefully. Without creating problems among the ranks and creating joint solutions to economic and social problems European Union is the single most important example when it comes to individual policy making.

There is a political instability in the Middle East. The ring of fire is merely the characteristic of this region. Individual policies are hard to examine in these countries. The existence of individual and authentic policies are related to democracy. And the existence of democracy is related to human rights, rule of law, gender equality and free press. It can sustain its validity with wealth and stability. Accordingly, countries living in the global dimension can realize individual policies in unity.

I want to conclude my remarks while assuming the unity in diversity is the source of power.

The ideal of ensuring the unity of diversity is the ideal of the era and the way to achieve it is through dialogue. Dialogue to get to know each other better.
