A memorial ceremony was held in the 16th year of passing away to eternity of late Heydar Aliyev in front of the Heydar Aliyev Monument in the Heydar Aliyev Park in Istanbul's Kirecburnu by the Consul General of Azerbaijan in Istanbul, Mesim Haciyev.

During the ceremony where the Mayor of Sarıyer Şükrü Genç and the Azerbaijanis in Istanbul attended, the Marmara Group Foundation was present with Dr. Akkan Suver and M. Gökhan Havuzlu.

On 12 December 2019, Dr. Akkan Suver wrote an article on late Heydar Aliyev's passing away to eternity.
