Eighty years ago Ambassador Hamdullah Suphi Tanrıöver opened a way in which economic and political relations of Turkey-Gagauzia commenced on the high level in 1991 and those relations continue to increase today.

Marmara Group Foundation attaches great importance to the relations and supports constructive endeavors within these activities.

We made Gagauzia present in international area in almost every country. Guvernor H.E. Mihail Formuzal supported us when we carried out our productive works. I am thankful and appreciate H.E. Mihail Formuzal and our Gagauzian brothers.

We value Gagauzians as hardworking and productive people in Moldova.

It is beneficial to add that you are an unshakable historical bridge in our friendship ties with Moldova. You sustained your Turkish identities and self-governance so we thank Moldova for allowing this.

Gagauzians, as the citizens of their motherland Moldova, are the great contributors of Moldavian welfare. There is a big contribution of Gagauzians to our relations concerning economy, trade, communication, culture, education.

In this context, it is beneficial to address that Turkey-Moldova relations will gain strength with our steps together.

The economic relations between Turkey and Gagauzia are open for improvement and development.

The Republic of Turkey and Government of Moldova lifted visa requirements and so we believe that the volume of trade between two countries will increase.

The number of active Turkish companies in Moldova is approximately 120 and some of them are present here. In terms regarding the number of foreign-capitalized companies Moldova is on the third place after Turkey, Romania and Italy.

According to data regarding Turkey, Turkey in Moldova is 10th with 23.6 million of foreign investments to Moldova.

Another important factor is Turkish capital inflow to Moldova through third countries such the Netherlands. Investments of Turkish companies Efes Group and Turkcell in Moldova are example of foreign capital from the Netherlands.

According to stock records of under secretariat for the Treasury department of Turkey, it is carried out that capital outflow to Moldova is 11.6 million dollars from our country.

There are many Turkish companies active in Moldova in the areas of food, beverage, agricultural products, telecommunication, textile, tourism, construction and construction materials, medicine, restaurant and logistics. Employment has been provided to 4500 people.

2000 people of the employment are Gagauzia.

This is Asena Textile Company.

Turkish investments to Gagauzia are approximately one million dollars. This amount is under the market value of Asena Textile Company.

Investments of Turkish companies to Moldova are increasing day by day. There are great amount of investments of Leogrand, Efes Vitanta, Moldcell, Asena Textile, Nefis, Infinity, Ece Bath Companies.

Furthermore, the performance of TİKA (Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency) in the region is better and more efficient than our businessmen.

TİKA represents Turkey with its productive workings regarding water channels, constructions, restorations of schools and hospitals and a great library donation.

I present my sincere thanks to TİKA for its serves and valuable workings in Gagauzia.

At the end, I would like to express that Gagauzia is a real bridge between Turkey and Moldova. We should strengthen this bridge.

As Marmara Group Foundation we attach great importance to Gagauzia. We believe that Gagauzians will not only play an important role on Turkey-Gagauzian relations but also for Balkan peace.
