The Marmara Group Foundation delegation, Dr. Akkan Suver and Mr. Şamil Ayrım took part as observers in the Presidential Elections held in Uzbekistan. Dr. Akkan Suver and Mr. Şamil Ayrım were deployed in the city of Samarkand in Uzbekistan to fulfill their duty. They have observed polling stations at ten different election regions. After the election Dr. Akkan Suver and Mr. Şamil Ayrım hold a press conference on behalf of the observers and stated that Uzbekistan have acquired new achievements on the path of democracy with this elections.

Dr. Akkan Suver added that with this election a new stage of democratic life in Uzbekistan was created. He stated “from the moment of the decision for election to the election day, we have witnessed a well organized and professional election. We have observed gladly together with other international observers, neutral elections exercised in accordance with the democratic rule.The success of this election in has great importance in terms of the future of democracy in brother Uzbekistan. The openness, the transparency we have observed during the election process proves significant maturityof Uzbek democracy. The hospitality and the transparency provided is beyond any praise.”

Dr. Akkan Suver stated that the participation to the elections was high and 15 906724 Uzbeks have voted and winning 88.61% of the votes, Prime Minister H.E. Shavkat Mirziyoyev become the Uzbekistan's new President.
