“THE MEDAL OF MERIT” has been given to Dr. Akkan Suver due to his studies in the field of peace and dialogue and the relationships that he formed in civil society area between Macedonia and Turkey by the President of the Republic of Macedonia. A crowded group of guests which has involved Turkey Ambassador to Skopje Tulin Erkal Kara, Montenegro Charge d'Affaires Jelena Mlacic, former Minister of the Republic of Macedonia Hadi Nezir and Furkan Cako, a famous journalist, writer and poet İlhami Emin attended to the ceremony held at the Presidential Palace in Skopje. The General Assembly of the Marmara Group Foundation was held with a wide participation in the Malta Pavilion in Istanbul. Begining its studies with Ertuğrul Kumcuoğlu's presidency and the General Assembly consist of Professor Dr. Yakut Irmak Özden, Leyla Tavşanoğlu, Dr. Uğur Özgöker and Turan Sarıgülle, reading the annual report of the Marmara Group Foundation. Dr. Akkan Suver talked about 2018. After the reading of the activity report, H. Gökhan Humbaraci read the Audit Report and Bülent Soylan read the Financial Report. Afterwards, activity and audit reports were released via separate voting. After the acceptance of new members Prof. Dr. Erman Tuncer, Cemal Bilgiç, Mehmet Gökhan Havuzlu, Sezgin Bilgiç, Mustafa Ergin, Göksel Bilgiç, Ümit Çoban, Rahmi Dilek and Baturhan Koçak, elections were held. The new Executive Council of the Marmara Group Foundation consisted of Dr. Akkan Suver, Ali Riza Arslan, Cafer Okray, Engin Köklüçınar, Yüksel Çengel, Lale Aytanç Nalbant, M. Gökhan Havuzlu, Lawyer Serhat Tabanca and Sezgin Bilgiç. Alaaddin Koçak, Yüksel Önel and Gökhan Humbaracı were elected to the Supervisory Board. Later on Dr. Akkan Suver who took the floor, while presenting their gifts in memory of 30 years to the members who have completed 30 years at the Marmara Group Foundation, has extended his thanks to the members of the Board of Directors and the Board of Trustees for their interest.

Regarding the terrorist incident in which three people were killed in Utrecht, the Netherlands, on 18 March 2019, Dr. Akkan Suver made a press release. Dr. Suver's statement is exactly as follows: " We strongly condemn the villainous attack in Utrecht, the Netherlands, with our civil society identity. The murderer is the murderer, the butcher is the butcher regardless of his/her language, religion and race. As a result of this abhorrent attack, our condolences to the Dutch people and to the relatives of those who lost their lives and we wish patience and urgent recovery for the wounded."

104rd Anniversary of the Victory of Çanakkale

In the 104rd anniversary of the victory of Çanakkale on March 18, we honor our martyrs, our veterans and Mustafa Kemal Atatürk with grace and gratitude. The Çanakkale (Gallipoli) Campaign cost the occupants 141.113, and the Turkish 195.000 men. Çanakkale was proved to be the Turksih's greatest victory of the war. This war showed Mustafa Kemal Atatürk's skills as great commander and victory was achieved through his strategies. Turkey commemorates the Victory of Çanakkale.

The night that Hüseyin Maliko, Amrah Dadashov, Bahruz Ahmad, Eldar Mansur, Kamil Bayramova, Elshan Rustamov, Aghali Karimzade, Leyli Valiyeva have performed with a magnificent concert, ended with the exceptional arias of famous Tenor Samir Jafarov. After the concert President of Nizami Gencevi Center, Nazım İbrahimov congratulated the artists together with Dr. Akkan Suver. At the end of the night, Hikmet Çetin the one of the previous Presidents of the Grand National Assembly, the previous Secretary General of the Islamic Conference, Prof. Dr. Ekmeleddin İhsanoglu, the Ambassador of Turkey to Azerbaijan Erkan Özoral, Ambassador of Tajikistan to Azerbaijan the Minister of Economic Development and Trade Nematullo Khikmatullozo have ended the night together.
