Romania’s Independence Day was celebrated in Istanbul, within a ceremony which organized by Mme. Adriana Ciamba the Consul General of Romania in Istanbul. In this Independence Day along with the foreigner mission chefs situated in Istanbul, significant personages were also attended. In addition, Müjgan Suver, Dr. Akkan Suver and Cenk Saltık have presented the greetings of Marmara Group Foundation to Consulate General of Romania in Istanbul.

Consul General of Kazakhstan in Istanbul Yerkebulan Sapiyev celebrated the Kazakhistan Independence Day organizing a Reception. Alongside the participation of the Embassy of Kazakhstan in Ankara, Zhanseit Tuimebayev, First Army Commander General Full general Salih Zeki Çolak was also attended to reception. In context of Checks and Balances network activities, Marmara Group Foundation Chairman of the EU Platform for Human Rights Müjgan Suver, with ten representatives of NGO's, discussed the aims and ideas of pluralistic and participatory democracy with Joe Biden in Istanbul. The participants talked about network's goals and ideals about pluralistic democracy. Represantatives, explained why they recommend to further the representative democracy in Turkey, for balance and control mechanisms as a model; they also share their views for new constitution and regulations legally and institutionally about state-citizen relations. US Vice President Joe Biden, expressed the importance of seperation of powers between the institutions. He appointed on importance of sustainability of political and institutional reforms.
