Türkiye-Uzbekistan Civil Society Workshop

The workshop titled "Türkiye-Uzbekistan Relations" and "The Republic of Türkiye at 100," organized between the Marmara Group Foundation and the Strategy Development Center under the Presidency of Uzbekistan, took place at Istanbul Kent University from June 21st to June 24th, 2023. A delegation from the Uzbekistan Strategy Development Center, led by Eldor Tulyakov and consisting of Furqat Yunusov, Nilufar Doniyorkhodjaeva, and Farrukh Khakimov, delivered an extensive presentation on Türkiye-Uzbekistan relations. Dr. Akkan Suver also gave a promotional speech about the 100th anniversary of the Republic of Turkey, discussing the formation of our Republic and its journey up to the present day. The workshop was attended by Cafer Okray, Belgin Tanrıverdi, Hasan Yediyıldız, Att. Murat Keçeciler, Nimet Ulubay, Prof. Dr. Figen Yıldırım, Rahmi Dilek, Mustafa Ergin, Engin Köklüçınar, Abuzer Sarı, Murat Uçak, and Mahmut Saklı from the Marmara Group Foundation. Amirsaid Agzamkhodjayev, the Consul General of Uzbekistan in Istanbul, was also present. After the meeting, Dr. Akkan Suver presented Eldor Tulyakov with commemorative gifts from the Marmara Group Foundation. In return, Eldor Tulyakov gifted Dr. Akkan Suver a handmade chess set.

Qian Xinyi was at the Marmara Group Foundation

Qian Xinyi, the Political Counsellor of the Embassy of the People's Republic of China in Ankara, visited the Marmara Group Foundation accompanied by Embassy Attaché Qui Zhenxiong. During the visit, discussions were held on Turkey-China relations and the Belt and Road Initiative. Dr. Akkan Suver, Cafer Okray, and Hasan Yediyıldız from the Marmara Group Foundation were present during the visit.

Visit to Ambassador Ayşe Sözen Usluer

A delegation consisting of Dr. Akkan Suver, Cafer Okray, and Hasan Yediyıldız from the Marmara Group Foundation visited Ambassador Ayşe Sözen Usluer, the Representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Istanbul, at her office. During the visit, the delegation provided Ambassador Ayşe Sözen Usluer with a presentation on the activities of the Marmara Group Foundation.

A panel titled "Elections and Türkiye's Vision for the Second Century in the Light of Democracy Workshops Results" was held at the Check ans Balance Network. Müjgan Suver, the President of Marmara Group Foundation's EU and Human Rights Platform, along with Hakan Yavuzyılmaz, Dr. Tanju Tosun, Ceren Bayar, and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Berk Esen, delivered speeches at the organized panel. The opening of the panel, which featured informative presentations by Hayriye Ataş and Prof. Dr. Emre Erdoğan, was conducted by Zübeyde Ozanözü, Muratcan Işıldak, and Kerem Ateş.

We Pay Respect to Demirel with Honor

Eight years ago, we lost Süleyman Demirel, the 9th President of Turkey. Süleyman Demirel had a significant role and contribution to the establishment of the Marmara Group Foundation and Eurasian Economic Summits. The 9th President Süleyman Demirel is recognized and remembered as an exemplary figure in Turkish democratic history. On the occasion of his 100th birthday next year, we respectfully bow before the esteemed memory of Süleyman Demirel, whom we will commemorate in an international event at the Eurasian Economic Summits.

The Executive Council of the Marmara Group Foundation convened

Following the General Assembly of the Marmara Group Foundation, the newly elected Executive Council held its first meeting at the Adem Ceylan Final Technical College. The Executive Council, which commenced its activities with a speech by Dr. Akkan Suver, appointed Sezgin Bilgiç as the Secretary-General, Cafer Okray as the Deputy Chairman, and Av. Serhat Tabanca as the General Treasurer. During the meeting, it was noted that the summit books were printed and distributed, and it was agreed to establish a High Advisory Council with Yüksel Çengel as its president. At the end of the meeting, Adem Ceylan presented Dr. Akkan Suver with a magnificent book titled "Turkish States History and Culture Atlas."

Samil Ayrim was in Shusha

The delegation of the Organization of Turkic States, led by Binali Yildirim, the Chairman of the Organization of Turkic States, participated in the ceremonies in Shusha. In Shusha, the cultural capital of the Turkic World and the pearl of Montenegro, an International Conference titled "From Liberation to Victory" was held to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the birth of Haydar Aliyev. The Azerbaijani National Liberation Day, which coincides with the anniversary of the Shusha Declaration, was celebrated, and our parliamentarians, including Samil Ayrim, a Member of the Board of Trustees of the Marmara Group Foundation and Istanbul MP, were present. In his speeches during the meetings, Samil Ayrim addressed the Türkiye-Azerbaijan relations.

Russia National Day Celebrated

Consul General of Russia in Istanbul, H. E. Andrey Burarov, hosted a Reception to celebrate Russia's National Day. The reception was attended by foreign mission chiefs, government officials, and businesspeople in Istanbul. Among the attendees were Ambassador H. E. Ayşe Sözen Usluer, the Representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Istanbul, Deputy Governor of Istanbul H. E. Özlem Bozkurt, and the Mayor of Beyoğlu, H. E. Haydar Ali Yıldız. President of the Marmara Group Foundation, Dr. Akkan Suver, Mr.Cafer Okray, and Mr. Mahmut Saklı also participated in the reception. During the event, Prof. Dr. İlber Ortaylı, Secretary-General of the BSEC, Prof. Dr. Asaf Hadjiev, and the delegation from the Marmara Group Foundation conversed for some time.

Marmara Group Foundation visited the Mayor of Şile.

The Diplomats International convened in Istanbul.

Diplomats International held its annual meeting in Istanbul, under the presidency of Ret. Ambassador Dr. Günther Meinel, the International President of the Diplomats International. The meeting was attended by Dr. Halil Sert, the President of Switzerland, Siegfried Benedict Paulus, the President of Germany, Ferhat Bozçelik, the President of Diplomats International from Türkiye. Prof. Dr. Uğur Özgöker and Mahmut Saklı and Dr. Akkan Suver were also present at the meeting.
