International Holocaust Remembrance Day

On the occasion of International Holocaust Remembrance Day, which was accepted by the United Nations General Assembly in 2005, a commemoration ceremony was held at Istanbul University with the participation of Deputy Minister of Culture and Tourism Ahmet Misbah Demircan. In the program that started with a short film show, Rector Prof. Dr. Mahmut Ak. Ishak Ibrahimzadeh, Deputy Minister of Culture and Tourism Ahmet Misbah Demircan and Turkish Rabbi Rav Isak Haleva took the floor separately. The ceremony ended with a prayer and candle-burning ceremony for the victims of the Holocaust. President of the Marmara Group Foundation Dr. Akkan Suver, Secretary General Cafer Okray and Board of Trustees Member Mahmut Saklı were present.

Bar Municipality Council President Branislav Nenezić received Dr. Akkan Suver, Oğuzhan Ceylan and Erol Altaş from Marmara Group Foundation.Former Mayor of Bar Municipality Jusuf Kalamperović was also present at the meeting. During the meeting, President Raičević reminded the municipality's strong ties with "The Marmara Foundation" and the Republic of Türkiye. He thanked Dr. Akkan Suver for his important services in Montenegro-Turkey relations. He introduced the existing projects being implemented as part of the implementation of the development plan to the Delegation. Raičević also noted that there is a favorable and supportive business environment that enables the development of various activities. Explaining that the city of Bar is an increasingly desirable investment location and an economic destination in this part of Montenegro and the city of Bar is ready for the construction and reconstruction of many luxury hotels and tourist facilities that will contribute to the development of elite tourism along the Riviera. The Mayor also stated that they are open to the promotion of cooperation in Montenegro that is focused on economic development, environmental protection, cultural-historical heritage and tourism.

President of Montenegro Milo Dukanovic received the Marmara Group Foundation Delegation, consisting of Dr Akkan Suver, Oğuzhan Ceylan and Erol Altaş, during their 26th Eurasian Economic Summit promotional visits in Montenegro. At the reception held at the Presidential Palace, the Delegation brought up the high importance that the Marmara Group Foundation attaches to Montenegro. Presidential Foreign Affairs Adviser and former Foreign Affairs Minister Milan Rocen were also present at the President's reception. The visits of the Marmara Group Foundation were accompanied by the former Ambassador of Montenegro Branko Milic and Seyran Mirzazada.

We lost Orhan Erinç

We lost Journalist Orhan Erinç, one of our volunteers who took part in the work of the Marmara Group Foundation. On the occasion of the death of Orhan Erinç, who was the head of Cumhuriyet Newspaper for many years and chaired the Turkish Journalists' Association, Dr. Akkan Suver sent a condolence message to the Journalists Association of Türkiye and offered his wishes for patience. Condolence Message of Dr. Akkan Suver: “The pain we feel for the loss of my dear friend Orhan Erinç is indescribable. I wish God's mercy on our friend Orhan Erinç, who honorably served as the President of the Journalists' Association of Türkiye and performed his presidency successfully.
