Nikolaos Manginas Photo Contest Award Ceremony

The Award Ceremony of the International Photography Contest, held in the name of the photographer Nikolaos Manginas, who had been the photographer of the Fener Patriarchate for many years, who passed away two years ago, was held at the Bomontiada Ara Güler Museum Hall. Funeral Mass for His Holiness Pope Emeritus Benedict XVI was held at Saint Esprit Catholic Church in Notre Dame de Sion High School in Istanbul. Vatican Ankara Ambassador Nonce Apostolique Monsignor Marek Solczynski led the Religious Ceremony, especially Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew, clergy in Istanbul, Istanbul Deputy Governor Özlem Bozkurt Gevrek and Diplomatic Mission Chiefs were present. Marmara Group Foundation President Dr. Akkan Suver and Secretary General Cafer Okray also represented civil society at the funeral ceremony.

Yvonne Vingas and Niko Kalamaris gave information about the Award Ceremony to be held on the occasion of an Indian photographer winning an international photography competition held in memory of the recently deceased photographer Nikolaos Manginas, and invited Indian Consul General Sudhi Choudhary to the Ceremony.

Pope Benoit XVI passes into eternity

Pope Benoit XVI (2007-2013) 95 years old passed into eternity. Pope Benoit XVI, known and distinguished as a humanitarian of peace and dialogue, was a Religious Leader who accepted the Marmara Group Foundation in the Vatican on two separate dates. In the first visit, the Marmara Group Foundation Delegation consisting of Dr. Akkan Suver, Prof. Dr. İlter Turan, Cafer Okray and Leyla Tavşanoğlu with, Dr. Fatih Saraçoğlu and (F) Orgeneal Necdet Timur were also accepted in the Vatican. Pope Benoit XVI, who received Müjgan and Dr. Akkan Suver at the Notre Dame Church during his official visit to Turkey, was known for his high support for civil society activities. As the Marmara Group Foundation, we bow respectfully in front of the cherished memory of Pope Benoit XVI, and as the Marmara Group Foundation, we offer our condolences to the Catholic world with our civil society identity.
