Friendly relations between Turkey and People's Republic of China has a long history. Since establishment of diplomatic relations between two countries, relations greatly improved. Especially in the last years, reciprocal visits have been made and mutual trust strengthen. Our economic and commercial relations also developed. In 2000, trading volume exceeded 1 billion dollars; and today trading volume is 30 billion dollars. Therefore People's Republic of China became 3rd biggest commercial partner of Turkey. Turkey's importation from People's Republic of China mainly consists investment assets and intermediate goods(%76). Rest is consumer goods(%24). Besides, our cooperation in investment area is developing. Contribution of  People's Republic of China to infrastructure investments in Turkey is increasing day by day. Likewise, our companies realize joint projects in third countries.

People's Republic of China showed a great success in drawing foreign investments. Since beginning of 1990's, People's Republic of China has the first place among developing countries on drawing investments. Instead of preferential treatment, People's Republic of China applied national treatment principle to foreign investors. On the other hand, special incentives for long-term projects are projected for west and central regions.

When Silkroad philosophy, which acted an important part in enhancing commerce as well as peace,  becomes a reality, Pacific Ocean and Baltic Sea will merge.
