Press Conference on 17th Eurasian Economic Summit

The details of 17th Eurasia Economic Summit, named “from Global to Local – Glocalization”, has been shared with a Press Meeting. Participants were Head of The General Secretariat of Istanbul Textile&Apparel Exporters’ Association Mr. Hikmet Tanrıverdi, Chairman of Marmara Group Strategic and Social Research Foundation Mr. Akkan Suver, Vice-Chairman of Marmara Group Strategic and Social Research Foundation Mr. Engin Köklüçınar and Fashion Designer Mrs. Özlem Kaya and press members.

According to information given at Press Meeting; Eurasia Economic Summit, continuing for seventeen years, meets one fourth of world in Istanbul by working on political, economical and intercultural dialogue for sustainable development and future of energy.

This year on 4-6th of February, in 17th Eurasia Economic Summit that will take place with support of The General Secretariat of Istanbul Textile&Apparel Exporters’ Association and will attend nearly 50 country and 600 delegates, Fashion Designer Mrs. Özlem Kaya will make a Fashion Parade.

Chairman of Marmara Group Strategic and Social Research Foundation Mr. Akkan Suver informed about the event and emphasized participants such as Presidents, Prime Ministers, Ministers and other honorable guests from countries all over the world.

Mr. Akkan Suver said that at 17th Eurasia Economic Summit, participants from Turkey are President of Turkish Grand Assembly Mr. Cemil Çiçek, Minister of Finance Mr. Mehmet Şimşek, Minister of European Union Mr. Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu and Minister of Development Mr. Cevdet Yılmaz. Moreover, we will discuss subject of “Human Trafficking” which is one of the most important problems of the world. Human Trafficking which has started with women, men, children, illegal workers and refugee nowadays threatens all civilizations. International data indicates that in our region approximately 500.000 women and girls are being sold by getting from Central Asia, Middle East and CIS countries. Especially, in 85% of conflict regions; women and girls are being sold. According to international data, the amount gained in human trafficking is billions of Euros. Inadequacy of international regulations, international cooperation, cross-border coordination, strategies eliminated sexual abuse of women and children are some of the triggering reasons of human trafficking.

Moreover, Mr. Suver said that “we are planning to discuss “Sustainable Development and Change in Local Governments”, “From Local to Global Future of Energy and Economy in Silkroad”, “From Local to Global the Importance of Dialogue in Peace”, “Development and Design” and “Development with Informatics” at 17th Eurasia Economic Summit. We will especially introduce the power of Design in Turkey at 17th Eurasia Economic Summit”.
