The Marmara Group Foundation visited the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus with a committee which composed of Dr. Akkan Suver, Engin Köklüçınar and Dr. Fatih Saraçoğlu.

Within the scope of the one-day business trip, the committee had the chance to be received by Derya Kanbay, Turkey’s Ambassador of Nicosia, and Dr. Derviş Eroğlu, the 3rd President of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, and was also received by the President of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus Mustafa Akıncı.

In the visit, President Mustafa Akıncı, who just returned from Switzerland, emphasized to the committee who asked about his impressions that the Turkish Cypriots’ decision of safety must be respected and that the realism in the resolution process is significant especially in terms of safety and guarantees.

President Akıncı, indicating that if the “zero soldier, zero guarantee” attitude repeats consistently it will be blocked at some point, stated that “This does not even constitute a starting point. They need to see and understand how the Turkish Cypriots’ worries can be answered as well. The important thing in here is that wherever we see our safety is must be respected”.

President Akıncı expressed that the Turkish Cypriot State and Turkey put emphasis on the formulas which will secure the safety of Turkish Cypriots’ and at the same time answer the Greek Cypriots’ worries as well.

Dr. Akkan Suver, Dr. Fatih Saraçoğlu and Engin Köklüçınar's admission by President Mustafa Akıncı continued with a dinner. Cenk Gürcağ, the Executive Assisstant to the President, was also present at the dinner.

The President of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus Mustafa Akıncı received the committee of the Marmara Group Foundation which is composed of Dr. Fatih Saraçoğlu and Engin Köklüçınar under the presidency of Dr. Akkan Suver.

The committee of the Marmara Group Foundation under the presidency of Dr. Akkan Suver invited President Mustafa Akıncı to the 20th Eurasian Economic Summit, which will take place on April 4-6 under the topic of “Humanity at a Crossroads”, and gave insights about the 20th Eurasian Economic Summit.

During their visit in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, Dr. Akkan Suver and his friends payed Derya Kanbay, the Republic of Turkey’s Ambassador of Nicosia, a visit in his Office. Furthermore, Dr. Derviş Eroğlu, the 3rd President of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, received the committee of the Marmara Group Foundation as well.
