At the 12^th Anniversary of His Demise, H.E. Haydar ALIYEV, the late President of Azerbaijan has been commemorated with the ceremonies held both in Ankara and Istanbul.

Mr. Şamil Ayrım, as the representative of the Marmara Group Foundation, participated in the Commemoration Ceremony organised at Haydar Aliyev Park in Ankara by the Azerbaijani Ambassador to Turkey, Mr. Faik Bagirov.

Mr. Şamil Ayrım delivered a statement on the Legendary President of Azerbaijan subsequent to the Commemoration Ceremony joined by the Vice-Premier of the incumbent government of Turkey, Mr. Tuğrul Türkeş and the Chairman of the Azerbaijan–Turkey Inter-Parliamentary Friendship Group, Mr. Necdet Ünüvar.

Dr. Akkan Suver and Mr. Cengiz Güldamlası represented the Marmara Group Foundation during the Commemoration Ceremony arranged at the Sarıyer- Haydar Aliyev Park in Istanbul by Hon. Esmira Hüseyinova, the Istanbul Consul General of Azerbaijan.

After the laying of wreaths at the Haydar Aliyev Monument, the whole participants of the Commemoration Ceremony placed a wreath at the Atatürk’s Monument as well.

Following the Ceremony, Dr. Akkan Suver and Mr. Cengiz Güldamlası made statements to the Media Organs of Azerbaijan and Turkish Press.

On the occasion of the 12th anniversary of Haydar Aliyev's death, in the published press release of Marmara Group Foundation Dr. Akkan Suver stated that, "Great nations have great leaders. Just as Britain's Winston Churchill, Charles de Gaulle in France, the United States' George Washington and as Turkey's Kemal Ataturk. And likewise, Haydar Aliyev is not only Azerbaijan's but also the entire Turkic world's prominent leader."

In the post-Cold War era, Haydar Aliyev served and lead while in the difficult years of Azerbaijan began to take place in the international conjuncture as an independent country.

Since 12^th December 2003 until today, Haydar Aliyev has been commemorating with an increasing love and respect.

The public statement of the president of the Marmara Group Foundation, Dr. Akkan Suver is as follows;

Aliyev was born in Nakhichevan in 1923, joined the Communist Party in the era of Soviet Union when he was 20 years old and in 1982, became the first and only Turk who granted with the membership of Politburo.

In 1990, he rejected to implement Gorbachov's policies and elected as the Speaker of the Nakhichevan Autonomous Republic immediately after he returned to his birthplace, Nakhichevan.

In May 1993, during the difficult times that country was passing through, Aliyev was invited to Baku and appointed to the Chairman of the National Assembly by Abulfaz Elchibey.

Today, on 12 December 2015, we realize and commemorate the former President and the Greatest Leader of Azerbaijan, Haydar Aliyev's 12^th death anniversary.

On the 3rd of October, 1993, Aliyev also took the office of Presidency.

In that time, Azerbaijani lands were under occupation and almost on the verge of separation.

Gathering together the Azeri nation, he was elected as president for the second time in 1998.

He laid the foundations of the modern and peaceful Azerbaijan by actualizing incredibly successful projects for the prosperity, stability and advancement of his nation and he performed a cease-fire with Armenia in Nagorno-Karabakh.

Furthermore, Haydar Aliyev pioneered to the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan Oil Pipeline Project also namely "Project of the Century"

Haydar Aliyev is not only Azerbaijan's but also the entire Turkic world's historical prominent leader. The masterpiece of Haydar Aliyev has been the Independent Azerbaijan resurrected from Darkness into the esteemed international player.
