54th General Assembly of PABSEC Meets

The 54th General Assembly of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation (PABSEC) convened in Sofia. Deputy Prime Minister of Bulgaria Tomislav Donchev was present at the PABSEC General Assembly which started with the speech of Tsveta Karayancheva, President of the National Assembly of the Republic of Bulgaria.

Dr. Akkan Suver, who attended the General Assembly on behalf of Marmara Group Foundation, emphasized the importance of Eurasian Economic Summits in his speech.

The Text Speech of Dr. Akkan Suver at the 54th General Assembly of Parliamentary Assembly of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation

Distinguished President,
Distinguished Members of Parliament,

I cardinally greet your high committee on behalf of Marmara Group Foundation of Turkey with our sivil society identity.

I would like to start my speech with respect and longing for one of the former Presidents, Great Statesman and Thinker Zhelyu Zhelev, who was involved in the establishment of the Eurasian Economic Summits, initiated by the Marmara Group Foundation 23 years ago.

Zhelyu Zhelev was a man of peace and dialogue.

As the Marmara Group Foundation, we have been organizing Eurasian Economic Summits with the utmost care and devotion in the way of peace and dialogue for 23 years with our civil society identity.

At the present time, we are all aware of the need for peace for people who are in great pain. The Black Sea region, the Balkans and the Caucasus geography have experienced these pain from time to time. It also continues to live partly. As a platform of peace, the Marmara Group Foundation has been trying to serve peace with its philosophy of dialogue for twenty-three years. We continue our studies with international statesmen, academics, clergy and successful young people.

Parliamentary Assembly of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation takes part in our Eurasian Economic Summits with both the Secretary General and its members.

Knowing the occasion of Sofia meeting; I want to talk about the 23rd Eurasian Economic Summit that we will organize next year.

The 23rd Eurasian Economic Summit will be held on April 8-9, 2020 in Istanbul.

We will bring the following issues to the agenda at the Eurasian Economic Summits where on average, attended by 40-44 countries at the level of President, former President, Prime Minister, Speaker of Parliament, parliamentarian, academician, businessman and clergyman, in the years we left behind.

In the light of One Belt-One Road Project
-ECONOMIC PLATFORM, New values of development and stability in Economy,
-ENERGY PLATFORM, Developments and opportunities in the field of renewable energy,
-WOMEN'S PLATFORM, Women Leaders in politics, industry, economy,
-PEACE PLATFORM, Protecting the peace in the global future, making it sustainable, restoring security and trust,
-URBAN PLATFORM, How can local governments implement equality with social projects?

We also want to see PABSEC members among us at the 23rd Eurasian Economic Summit.

I repeat my invitation to your high delegation from this podium and I salute all of you with respect.

Attending the 54th General Assembly of PABSEC Dr. Akkan Suver also met with H. E. Branimir Mladenov, the retired Bulgarian Ambassador to Ankara and Recipient of Marmara Group Foundation Medal of Honor.

Meanwhile, Mr. Babür Koçoğlu and Dr. Serdar Eraslan did not leave Dr. Akkan Suver alone during his visit to Bulgaria.
