Dr. Akkan Suver moderated the panel of ‘Olive under Threat’ having been held within the framework of the 6^th Olive Festivities at Küçükkuyu, the small town which is considered to be the starting point of the Aegean Sea. The then-traditionalised panel of Olive Festivities, which has been organized for six years respectively under the administration of Mr. Cengiz Balkan, the Mayor of Küçükkuyu, was followed by a huge crowd. The panel inauguration was initialised with the address of Mr Balkan emphasizing the importance bestowed on the olive raising through the small town.  At the panel joined by Dr. Handan Torak Benli –the Mayor of Avcılar, Süheyla Doğan – the representative from an environment organisation and the women farmers from the Yırcalı Village, the circumstances of the Turkish Olive Production was laid on the table. In accordance, Dr. Suver made remarks on the economic and industrial value of olive. In conclusion, the panellists brought on the agenda the difficult circumstances the olive sector getting through nowadays.
