Dr. Akkan Suver talked about the South Caucasus meeting

Akkan Suver: Meetings in Brussels indicate positive progress in the situation in the South Caucasus

The statements made by Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev during his visit to Brussels to attend the 6th Summit of the European Union's Eastern Partnership Program indicate that progress in the situation in the South Caucasus will be positive. The meetings and statements made by the President of Azerbaijan during his visit are indicators of this situation. The main goal here is to ensure stability in the region and ensure a comfortable life for the people. The important thing is to pave the way to peace. Azerbaijan has been doing its best for this aim for many years.

This opinion was expressed to AZERTAC by Dr. Akkan Suver, President of the Marmara Group Strategic and Social Research Foundation.

Dr. Suver stated: “It is very important that the President of the Council of the European Union, Charles Michel, made a written statement after the meeting declaring that the EU is ready to support the connecting routes within the framework of the economic investment plan. Determined on the interaction of the Zangazur and Lachin corridors, Ilham Aliyev made this point clear at a joint press conference with NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg. In addition, the trilateral meetings of the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, the Prime Minister of Armenia Nicole Pashkina and the President of France Emmanuel Macron are an indication of the special importance attached to the issue by the European Union. Azerbaijan, which has always been a supporter of peace and has been on the agenda for many years, has opened a door of peace for Armenia as well. We believe that the support of the European Union here will help the opening of the road to peace. "
