Energy in Black Sea Workshop

The Marmara Group Foundation and the New Strategy Center from Romania completed the "Energy in Black Sea" workshop which was held on May 5, 2017 in Kadir Has University in Istanbul with a great success. Former EU Minister EgemenBağış from Turkey and Ambassador Akil, (F) Gen. OktarAtaman, Prof. Dr. Mustafa Aydin, Deputy Şamil Ayrım, Ambassador Ünal Çeviköz, Secretary General of Parliamentary Assembly of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation Prof. Dr. Asaf Hajiyev, Journalist Sami Kohen, Cafer Okray, Ambassador Mithat Rende, Fatih Saraçoğlu and the journalist Barçın Yinanç participated in the workshop and New Strategy Center was present with a delegation composed of Cosmin Ionita, Dan Dungacu and Mihnea Constantinescu under the presidency of Sergiu Celac from Romanian Foreign Affairs Ministers. Gabriel Şopanda, Ambassador of Romania to Ankara, also attended the meeting.

The workshop, which was held under the directing of Rector of Kadir Has University Prof. Dr. Mustafa Aydın, started with Dr. Akkan Suver's speech that is about the relationship between Turkey and Romania. Speakers who discussed the economic and social dimensions of the energy strategy in the Black Sea also revealed the role of energy in the security of the Black Sea. Secretary General of Parliamentary Assembly of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation Prof. Dr. AsafHajiyev, who attended the meeting, gave a presentation that presented the political dimension of the Black Sea. Workshop lasted about three and a half hour and with family photo it was finalized.
