Süleyman Demirel, the 9^th President of Turkish Republic was commemorated on the first year of his demise in Isparta. On behalf of the Marmara Group Foundation, Mr. Engin Köklüçınar, the Vice-President was present during the commemoration ceremony in Isparta that marks the first anniversary of the Süleyman Demirel. The same day Dr. Akkan Suver attended the General Assembly of the Black Sea-Caspian Sea International Fund (BSCSIF) with Samil Ayrım and talked about Suleyman Demirel. During his speech, with his offer, general assembly members sent a fax, signed by President Cengiz Abdullayev, to Arrangement Board in Isparta and offered their condolences on behalf of the BSCSIF.

 On occasion of the first anniversary of demise, Dr. Akkan Suver, the President of the Marmara Group Foundation, delivered a statement in regard to the first anniversary of his decease as follows; 

In his message, Dr. Akkan Suver,

As the Marmara Group Foundation- with its civil society identity, we take a bow respectfully before his honourable memoirs of Süleyman Demirel important person of the Turkish Democracy, the unchangeable President of Justice (Adalet) Party and Prime Minister, President and Prime Minister of True Path Party (Doğruyol Partisi) and President of the Turkish Nation.

Süleyman Demirel, who made great services in the growth of Turkey and had great efforts in reaching contemporary values, has put his indisputable signature on dams, universities, schools, hospitals, highways and industrial facilities; the long and short of it is this signature can be seen that in every inch of the country.

Besides his exceptional workings for the sake of nation and state, Süleyman Demirel, having made a great contribution to the Marmara Group Foundation presided by me, wrote down the following lines on April 30, 1994 into our Honour Book which had become our motto;
‘’The Marmara Group Foundation is an intellectual platform. It is a civic duty to take interest in the issues of homeland and the World. Those ones participating in these meetings have fulfilled this responsibility. Organised society, demanding and interacting society means power and might. This is exactly what the Marmara Group Foundation stands for.’’

Furthermore, he made a guidance to us in the formation of the Eurasian Economic Summits organized by our Foundation.

We take a bow respectfully before the honourable memoirs of this magnificent man, Süleyman Demirel who put a signature to the unforgettable workings.
