ISTANBUL AIRPORT WAS INAUGURATED

Istanbul Airport which will be one of the most prestigious airports in the world was inaugurated by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.

Representatives from about 100 countries including Mustafa Akıncı, President of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, Gjorge Ivanov, President of the Republic of Macedonia, Hashim Thaçi, President of the Republic of Kosovo, Ilir Meta, President of Albania, Aleksandar Vucic, President of Serbia, Sooronbay Ceenbekov, President of Kirghizstan, Tamim Hamad Al Thani, the Emir of Qatar, Igor Dodon, President of Moldova, Alenka Bratusek, Deputy Prime Minister of Slovenia, Boyko Borisov, Prime Minister of Bulgaria, Ogtay Asadov, Speaker of the National Assembly of Azerbaijan, Elmar Memmedyarov, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan, Denis Zvicdic, Prime Minister of Bosnia and Herzegovina attended the opening ceremony that coincided with the 95th anniversary of the founding of the Republic of Turkey at high-level.

In addition to Former President Abdullah Gül and Speaker of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey Binali Yıldırım, Dr. Akkan Suver from the Marmara Group Foundation also took part at the ceremony.

During the first phase it is expected to handle up to 90 million passengers a year flying to 316 destinations with 506 airplane. Istanbul Airport, which will link 60 countries each other, was launched with an investment of 10 billion 247 million Euro.
