After the events that took place on April 6-7 2010, new Constutition was submitted to plebiscite on June 27 2010 and accepted. After the plebiscite, head of provisional goverment Roza Otunbayeva was elected as president for transitional period until end of 2011.5 political parties qualified to enter the Parliement by passing elecrotal barrage.

Coalition goverment, which is constituted from Respublica and Ata-jurt parties, was founded under prime ministry of Social Democratic Party leader Almazbek Atanbaev.16 candidates attended presidental elections which took place on October 30 2011.

According to our observation on 4 regions of Bishkek and more than 20 ballot boxes we determined that elections runned on a normal course between 8 am to 9 pm. Ill and very old electorates voted one day earlier. Besides, new system for visually handicapped people has been observed as a very important innovation.

Very long queuing lines has been observed in some ballot boxes. It has been observed that women who assigned to ballot boxes accomplished their missions quite meticulously.Especially young people at ballot boxes in universities were quite excited and formed quite long queues.Despite low participation rates to election, Prime Minister Almazbeg Atabaev took 63 percent of votes and elected as president according to indefinite results.

Adahan Madumarov took approximately 15 percent of total votes and Kamçıbek Taşıev took approximately 14 percent according to indefinite results.Prime minister Atanbaev who is originated from the North, took considerable amount of votes from the South.

Atanbaev’s election as president on first round shows Kyrgyz People’s determination to new constitution and parliementary system. As Marmara Group Foundation, we wish the best for Kyrgyz People.
