On the occasion of the Christmas Day recognized by the Christian world, the Assyrian Catholic and Assyrian Orthodox communities held separate receptions in Istanbul.

Dr. Akkan Suver, who attended the acceptance ceremony of Orhan Çanlı, acting Patriarch of the Syriac Catholic Church Community, was with the members of the congregation, Rabbi Isak Haleva.

After the ceremony, Dr. Akkan Suver who attended the acceptance of Patriarchal Vicar of the Syriac Orthodox Church, Yusuf Çetin, congratulated the members of the congregation together with Mayor of Kadıköy, Şerdil Dara Odabaşı
