The WINPEACE Turkey January 2013 meeting, of which Müjgan Suver, President of the Marmara Group Foundation EU and Human Rights Platform, is also a member, was very successful. During the meeting, while catching up with each other, projects considered for implementation were also discussed.

It was primarily decided to hold a meeting in July 2013 with WINPEACE members from Greece and both North and South Cyprus. It was thought appropriate to coincide this meeting with the youth camp on conflict resolution training, which will be held from July 8-13 with the support of Sabancı University. Additionally, in cooperation with İPİ, it was decided to organize a conference on Peace Language in the media in April 2013 at the Boğaziçi University Peace Education Application and Research Center.

WINPEACE: Women’s Initiative for Peace WINPEACE was established in 1996, influenced by the Kardak crisis that brought Turkey and Greece to the brink of war, by women from both countries to strengthen peace, democracy, human rights, economic and social justice, and to promote development. The Greek section is chaired by Margarita Papandreou, and the Turkish section is chaired by Zeynep Oral. The WINPEACE Group, which includes representatives from various NGOs, also includes Müjgan Suver, President of the EU and Human Rights Platform, representing the Marmara Group Foundation.
