A memorial recitation was held for Prof. Dr. İlber Ortaylı at the Pera Palace Hotel in Istanbul on the fortieth day following his passing.
After a short film about Prof. Ortaylı, Imam Bayram Şivetoğlu of Emirgan Mosque recited the Yasin and offered prayers. Participants then gathered for a memorial meal.
