Pope Leo XIV honoured Dr. Akkan Suver with a Papal Medal for his civil society work in peace and dialogue.
Monsignor Orhan Canli presented the medal at the Love and Peace Iftar on 25 February 2026. It was the second Vatican medal awarded to Dr. Suver, following one presented by Pope Benedict XVI in 2007.
