At the Horse Day celebrations Minister of Agriculture Mehdi Eker was also present where President Abdullah Gül was the guest of honor along with the President of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov.

In his press statament at Ashgabat Dr. Akkan Suver told the following;

''The main philosophy of the Horse Day is created by a horse breed called Ahalteke. This breed of horse is unique to Turkmenistan. It is essential to the Turkmen culture and social life. This year the interest to the Horse Day was significantly high. Turkey also took its place in this holiday with the Chairman of the Turkey Jockey Club Serdal Adalı, numerous academics and organizatons interested in horse breeding. The most meaningful part of this highly participated holiday was the horse ride, racing and race winning of President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov. In the meantime our one important observation was the Turkmens' love for their president.''
