Dr. Akkan Suver
• Dr. Akkan Suver, who has been the President of the Marmara Group Foundation, which has been operating in the international arena since 1998, represented the State of Montenegro in Istanbul as Honorary Consul for twelve years between May 2008 and December 2019. In January 2020, Dr. Akkan Suver resigned from his position when the State of Montenegro opened an official consulate in Istanbul. During his tenure as Honorary Consul, Dr. Akkan Suver was Turkey's first and only journalist diplomat with a Press Card.
• Since 1998, Dr. Akkan Suver is the founder of the Eurasian Economic Summits, which have been held continuously and adopted as a prestige association in the international arena; He is a civil society leader who is recognized globally for his work on peace and intercultural dialogue. Dr. Akkan Suver was awarded Honoris Causa by Azerbaijan University of Contemplation in 2001, Honorary Professorship by Kyrgyzstan Bishkek University in 2010 and Honoris Causa by Romanian Constanta State Maritime University in 2013.
• In the past years, Dr. Suver was honored by Pope Benedict XVI in 2007 with the PAPAL MEDAL for the intercultural dialogue he initiated in Turkey and then carried out in the field of international peace. To date, Dr. Suver has been awarded the MEDAL OF TERAKKI (2006) and the ORDEN OF FRIENDSHIP (2011) by the State of Azerbaijan, the CENGIZAN MEDAL (2006), the SILVER STAR MEDAL (2009) and the PIRATE STAR MEDAL (2012) by the State of Mongolia.
• In 2011-2012, he was the rotating President of the Black Sea Caspian Sea International Foundation (BSCIF) based in Bucharest.
• In 2012, Akkan Suver's book “MONTENEGRO” was published.
• Akkan Suver's book “MONTENEGRO” was published in Montenegrin in Podgorica with a foreword by Prof. Dr. Sherbo Rastoder.
• Dr. Akkan Suver, who is internationally recognized for his work on Intercultural Dialogue, was awarded the BALKAN PEACE MEDAL by the Balkan Peace Club on 14 February 2013.
• On October 14, 2014, Dr. Akkan Suver was awarded the highest Order of the Gagauzia Region of Moldova, the “ORDEN OF GAGAVUZYA”.
• On November 20, 2014, on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the end of Communism, Dr. Akkan Suver was awarded the “ROMANIAN STATE CROWN” by the Romanian Prime Minister H.E. Victor Ponta in Bucharest.
• On 23 November 2014, Dr. Akkan Suver was presented the “STRATEGIC PARTNER AWARD” by the Vienna Economic Forum in Vienna by former Chancellor Dr. Erhard Busek.
• On 17 December 2014, the Ambassador of Romania to Ankara, Radu Onefrei, presented Dr. Akkan Suver with the “TURKISH-ROMANIAN RELATIONS FRIENDSHIP AWARD”.
• On 21 January 2014, President of Gagauzia H.E. Mihail Formuzal presented Dr. Akkan Suver with a “20th ANNIVERSARY MEDAL OF FREEDOM” within the framework of the events organized on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of the Autonomy of Gagauzia, which was accepted by the Moldovan Parliament on 23 December 1994.
• In 2016, he was honored by the Ministry of Energy of Azerbaijan with the Order of “ENERGY WORKER”. In the same year, he was awarded the “Ambassador of Knowledge” diploma by the Academy of Life Learning Academia in Slovenia.
• In 2017, he joined the academic staff of Istanbul Istinye University.
• In 2017, Dr. Akkan Suver organized the 20th Eurasian Economic Summit.
• On June 9, 2017, the State of Albania, through the hand of President H.E. Bujar Nishani, awarded Dr. Akkan Suver the “STATE CIVIL MERIT CROWN”.
• Also in 2017, Dr. Akkan Suver was presented with the Strategic Partner of the Year Award by the Vienna Economic Forum of the Austrian State for his work for Peace and Dialogue in the Balkans.
• In 2018, he was awarded the ROYAL MEDAL by Her Majesty Queen Margareta of Romania (Custodian of the Crown of Romania).
• He successfully moderated the 21st Eurasian Economic Summit on April 11-12, 2018.
• On November 12, 2018, he was honored with the “GOLD MEDAL OF HONOR OF THE STATE OF AUSTRIA” by the President of Austria H.E. Alexander Van der Bellen in Ankara.
• On November 18, 2018, he opened the Vienna Economic Forum in Vienna as the Guest of Honor.
• On February 6-7, 2019, he successfully moderated the 22nd Eurasian Economic Summit in Istanbul.
• March 3, 2019 The International Foundation for Sustainable Peace and Development, headquartered in Sofia, awarded Dr. Akkan Suver, President of the Marmara Group Foundation, with the MEDAL OF SUPERIOR SERVICE.
• On March 21, 2019, he was awarded the “DISTINGUISHED SERVICE MEDAL” by the President of Macedonia H.E. Gjorge Ivanov.
• In January 2020, he resigned from the post of Honorary Consul of Montenegro in Istanbul, which he held for 12 years, on the occasion of the opening of an official consulate in Istanbul.
• On October 6-7, 2020, despite the coronavirus pandemic, he organized the 23rd Eurasian Economic Summit under the title (In the Light of the Belt and Road Initiative) with the participation of 47 countries.
• On December 16, 2020, he was reappointed as the Honorary Consul of Balıkesir by the State of Montenegro.
• On December 24, 2020, he was honored by the Ministry of Diaspora of the State of Azerbaijan with a Certificate of Appreciation for his solidarity in the Karabakh Operation.
• On March 5, 2021, President of Montenegro H.E.Milo Dukonovic made Dr. Akkan Suver a Citizen of Montenegro with a ceremony held in Podgorica. At the same ceremony, President Milo Dukonovic presented Dr. Akkan Suver with the Montenegro Medal of Merit and gave him his Passport.
• On July 8 and 9, 2021, despite the pandemic, Dr. Akkan Suver organized the 24th Eurasian Economic Summit with the theme “Humanity deserves better”. The Summit was attended by 42 countries.
• The Union of Journalists of Azerbaijan awarded Dr. Akkan Suver the “GOLDEN MEDAL OF THE EMERITUS JOURNALIST” during the 24th Eurasian Economic Summit.
• On August 13, 2021, the People's Republic of China honored Dr. Akkan Suver with the “GOLDEN PEN” on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Turkey and the People's Republic of China for his work on the development of relations between the two countries.
• On June 7, 8, 9, 2022, the 25th Eurasian Economic Summit was held with the participation of 43 countries. At the same Summit, he was awarded the “MEDAL OF PEACE” by the Union of Love and Peace in the United States of America. At the same Summit, Dr. Akkan Suver was awarded an Honorary DOCTORATE and VECTOR'S EDICATION by the Republic of Azerbaijan.
• In August 2022, his book “After 80 Years” was published.
• On March 13,14,15, 2023, he organized the 26th Eurasian Economic Summit in Istanbul with the participation of 44 countries.
• On November 10, 2023, Akkan Suver's new book was published under the title “A Past Without Wishes”.
• On November 12, 2023, he opened the Vienna Economic Forum.
• On December 4, 2023, he opened the World Media Conference in Guandong, China.
• On February 21-22, 2024, Dr. Akkan Suver organized the 27th Eurasian Economic Summit with the participation of 45 countries.
• On March 4, 2024, Dr. Akkan Suver was awarded the MEDAL OF LOVE AND PEACE by FOWPAL (Federation of Love and Peace), headquartered in the United Nations.
• April 6, 2024 Akkan Suver's book “After 80 Years” was published in Baku in Azerbaijani language.
• May 15,2024, (PABSEC) Parliamentary Assembly of the Organization of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation Organization was awarded the MEDAL OF HONOR in Tirana by the Chairman of the Assembly of Albania H.E. Lindita Nikolla and Secretary General Prof. Dr. Asaf Hadjiyev.
• August 6, 2024 Dr. Akkan Suver was awarded the MONGOLIAN STATE MEDAL OF HONOR. It was presented by the Ambassador of Mongolia in Ankara at a grand ceremony in Istanbul.
• Dr. Akkan Suver has been awarded with titles such as journalist of the year and non-governmental organization leader of the year by various national and international organizations in the past years.
• In the past years, Dr. Akkan Suver presented the views Turkish civil society at various international meetings in Montenegro, Azerbaijan, the People's Republic of China, Romania, Spain, Austria, Moldova, Gagauzia, Mongolia, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Macedonia, Montenegro, Bulgaria, Vatican, Poland, He presented the views of Turkish civil society at various international meetings in Slovenia, Albania, Montenegro, Italy, France, Belgium, Greece, Turkmenistan, Serbia, Georgia and the United Nations.
• On behalf of Turkish civil society, has participated as an 'Observer' in elections held in Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan, Bulgaria, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Georgia and Ukraine at various times.
• Dr. Akkan Suver is a well-known journalist and author in Turkey and his books have been published in Azerbaijani, English and Montenegrin languages in addition to Turkish. He is currently writing articles for the Gözlem Newspaper published in Izmir.
