We have lost Hon. Mr. Çetin Gürel, the owner of *Gözlem* newspaper and a veteran of the İzmir press community.

Dr. Akkan Suver issued a statement regarding the passing of Hon. Mr. Çetin Gürel—a loyal friend of the Marmara Group Foundation—saying: (-The grief and sorrow we feel over the tragic loss of Hon. Mr Çetin Gürel are indescribable. We will always remember Hon. Mr. Çetin Gürel—who lived as a journalist and was nicknamed 'Yellow Storm' in his youth—as a dedicated member of the press. Mr. Çetin Gürel—with whose journalistic family both my wife, Mrs. Müjgan Suver, and I were honored to be associated—I share in the profound grief of his esteemed wife and children.)
