19 May 1919 is the starting point of the Turks' trial by fire. We are in the 106th year of the Great Atatürk's landing in Samsun.1

9 May is the beginning of the Turkish War of Independence. It is the first step of the establishment of the Republic of Türkiye.

This step taken 106 years ago has been celebrated today as the Commemoration of Atatürk, Youth and Sports Day since 1981.

On this exceptional day, we congratulate our young people and commemorate the Great Atatürk with gratitude and respect.
