The introductory meeting of the 28th Eurasian Economic Summit, which will be held this year with the theme ‘Dialogue for a Livable World’, was held at Istanbul Fashion Academy. It is learned that more than 300 politicians, diplomats, academicians, faith leaders and business people from nearly 50 countries will attend the summit to be held in Istanbul on May 7-8.

The countdown continues for the 28th Eurasian Economic Summit, which will be organized by the Marmara Group Foundation (MGV) on May 7-8. More than 300 politicians, diplomats, academicians, religious leaders and business people from nearly 50 countries are expected to attend the summit. MGV President Dr. Akkan Suver, İHKİB Vice President Mustafa Paşahan and many press members attended the introductory meeting held at Istanbul Fashion Academy.

Stating that the Eurasian Economic Summit contributes to the development of new collaborations among business people, İHKİB Vice President Mustafa Paşahan said the following at the press conference: "As İHKİB, we have been supporting the Eurasian Economic Summit for many years. We also see this organization as a platform that introduces the power of our fashion industry to the world. Our fashion industry is of strategic importance for the Turkish economy with its value-added production, employment and exports. We are a brand country and a global player in production. We realize approximately 3.5 percent of global ready-to-wear exports. We are the sixth largest supplier in the world and the third largest in the European Union (EU). We have a strong production infrastructure and know-how. However, as the balance between input costs and the exchange rate has deteriorated, our fashion industry has lost its competitiveness to a great extent."

SUVER: WE WILL BE A BRIDGE ON THE ROAD TO PEACE

President of the Marmara Group Foundation Dr. Akkan Suver, who made statements about the summit, used the following expressions: "With the Eurasian Economic Summit, we have been bringing together names who have something to say in the international arena for nearly 30 years. Eurasian Economic Summit is a free and intellectual platform. In this platform, we bring together leaders, political leaders, business world, civil society, academics and religious leaders who are currently active in their countries or who have assumed responsibility in the past to improve the state of the world. At the summit, which is one of Türkiye’s most important international civil society organizations, we address and discuss the problems, opportunities and threats facing humanity in all its dimensions. The Eurasian Economic Summit is not a meeting where elites come together, but an international forum where opinion leaders who have something to say can freely share their thoughts and make their voices heard."

‘AT THE SUMMIT WE WILL DISCUSS NOT ONLY THE ECONOMY BUT ALSO THE DIGITAL WORLD’

Dr. Suver concluded his words as follows:"We will organize the 28th Eurasian Economic Summit with the theme ‘Dialogue for a Livable World’ with the responsibility of being a bridge on the road to peace. At the summit, we will discuss economy, energy, digital world, artificial intelligence, health and ecology with statesmen, academicians, business people and religious leaders. On the first day of the summit, our Vice President Mr. Cevdet Yılmaz and on the second day, our Minister of Trade Mr. Ömer Bolat will deliver speeches on behalf of Türkiye. It is the beginning of a period in which different relations between states are developing. In the session titled ‘The role of global leaders’ at the summit, the new diplomacy style of the leaders shaping international politics, which is fed by populism and demagoguery, will be discussed."
