TRNC Istanbul Consul General Fatma Demirel gave a reception at Istanbul Hilton Hotel on the occasion of the 41st anniversary of the establishment of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus.

The reception, which was also honored by Istanbul Governor Davut Gül, was also attended by Marmara Group Foundation Doyen Ertuğrul Kumcuoğlu and his wife Ümran Kumcuoğlu and Marmara Group Foundation President Dr Akkan Suver.  It was observed that the reception was very popular with the military officials, especially Army Commander General Metin Tokel, along with the local officials.

Marmara Group Foundation President Dr. Akkan Suver published a message on the Great Feast Day of TRNC. Dr. Suver's message was exactly as follows: *Happy 41st Anniversary of the establishment of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC). On this occasion, I commemorate the founder and first President of the TRNC, the late Rauf DENKTAŞ and the first leader of the Turkish Community, Fazil KÜÇÜK and the martyrs of Cyprus with mercy, respect and gratitude.
