An informational workshop and certificate ceremony were held in Avcılar as part of the Disaster-Resilient Cities: Avcılar Project, jointly carried out by the Marmara Group Foundation and the Municipality of Avcılar. The event brought together municipal officials and neighborhood headmen (muhtars) for a comprehensive project presentation.

The meeting, which took place at the Barış Manço Cultural Center with a large audience in attendance, began with the opening speech by Dr. Akkan Suver. The program continued with remarks by Yüksel Can, Deputy Mayor of Avcılar.

Subsequently, the session featured individual presentations by distinguished experts and officials: Prof. Dr. Haluk Özener, Director of AFAD Istanbul; Ergün Cebeci, Head of the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM) Disaster Department;
Dr. Mehmet Doğu from Istanbul Technical University (ITU); Burak Çatlıoğlu, President of the Istanbul Chamber of Geological Engineers; Ayşe Deniz Arıkan from the EU Istanbul Office; and Prof. Dr. Seda Kundakçı from Istanbul Technical University.
Following the presentations, volunteers from Avcılar who had been actively involved as project stakeholders over the past year in the Disaster-Resilient Cities: Avcılar Project were awarded certificates by Deputy Mayor Yüksel Can.

During the same ceremony, Yüksel Can also presented certificates of appreciation to key contributors from the Marmara Group Foundation: Müjgan Suver, Lale Aytanç Nalbant, Muhanned Akyol, İmren Karataş, Teoman Hüner, and Kenan Mert.
