MARMARA GROUP FOUNDATION HAS ACHIEVED A GREAT SUCESS AT

Marmara Group Foundation with intention to ensure women’s participation to the work force markets and to create a model for women employment initiated the ‘Entrepreneur women of Kars, beekeepers grantee program’ project on July 28 2010 and ended on July 28 2011, and in the context of this project, 40 women have;

Received a training about the techniques of beekeeping

Received theoretical education for general beekeeping and organic honey production

Received theoretical education for entrepreneurship, basic accounting, basic nutrition and honey production technology, marketing and basic management.

Engaged in women’s human rights trainings.

Ensured core beekeeping businesses are established.

Received an applied training on beekeeping and organic honey production at the 40 core business centers that have established in various places.

Received a certificate from the core centers on organic honey production.

Received consultancy for loans and grantees in order to expand business.

Attended to the organized national seminar about women’s employment.

At the end of the project, a book titled ‘’Beekeeping and Organic Honey Production, Basic Techniques-Marketing’’ has been published, and distributed free of charge to trainees and to the relevant organizations, institutions and individuals.

Bülent Özcan, who took the floor in the “EU Funds and Opportunities for Istanbul” meeting which was also participated by Minister of EU and chief negotiator Egemen Bağış, showed Marmara Foundation’s Kars Project as “successfully implemented example project”. (January 19, 2013)
