Within the framework of promotional visits of 23th Eurasian Economic Summit, President of Marmara Group Foundation Dr. Akkan Suver and Vice President Mr. Engin Köklüçınar paid a courtesy visit to the Consul General of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Istanbul, Javad Maboudifar. During the visit, Dr. Akkan Suver presented information about the Eurasian Economic Summits to Javad Maboudifar, the Consul General of the Islamic Republic of Iran and requested his support for the participation of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

Uzbekistan Elections

Dr. Akkan Suver, President of the Marmara Group Foundation, who participated as an Observer to the elections of the National Assembly, Senate and Local Administrations in the name of Turkish civil society on 22 December 2019 in Uzbekistan, visited 26 ballot boxes. Dr. Akkan Suver, who gave information to the press about his ballot boxes that he served in Mirobod and Yakkasaray Districts in Tashkent, stated that the elections were transparent and in accordance with democratic rules and western norms. Dr. Akkan Suver who also met with party representatives and voters during the ballot box visits, said that for the first time in the elections, women were given roses by the Chairman of the Balloting Committee, and while going their home with committee, they have allowed the people who have already been referred to some kind of disease vote in their homes. Meanwhile, the fact that 36 of the deputies were women was described by observers as a discrete achievement of the idea of New Uzbekistan. Dr. Akkan Suver made the following evaluation regarding the election results: 5 political parties participated in the Uzbekistan elections According to the results of the election: The Liberal Democratic Party of Uzbekistan 43 deputies, The People's Democratic Party 18 deputies, The Social Democratic Party Adolat (Justice) 21 deputies, the Democratic Party Milliy Tiklanish (National Revival) 35 Deputies and Ecological Party of Uzbekistan 11 deputies released. In 22 provinces, 74 candidates will be re-elected. According to the Constitution of Uzbekistan, the winning party must exceed 50% in that province. Because it could not exceed in 22 provinces, elections will be held again.

100th Anniversary of the First Turkish Women's Rally of Kastamonu

The Kastamonu people (The Women's Horizon from Kastomu to the World opened to the world), met in Istanbul on the centennial anniversary of the first Turkish Women's Rally in Kastamonu. In the event, which was held as a World Heritage Kastamonu Initiative, the participants watched with great appreciation the film of Selçuk Metin and the symphonic concert of the soloist Nemeth Quartet under the direction of Oğuzhan Balcı. Speaking at the ceremony, World Heritage Kastamonu Initiative President Dr. Atif Uğurlu stated that; " We are proud to crown our 100th Anniversary of 10 December 1919 Women's Rally with such a meaningful night." The World Heritage Kastamonu Initiative, which was established under the leadership of Mehmet Reis, Prof. Dr. Sakine Esen Eruz, Dr. Atıf Uğurlu, Prof. Dr. Zeki Alpan, Prof. Dr. Necmi Yüzbaşıoğlu, Prof. Dr. Dursun Kırbaş and Prof. Dr. İzzet Tor, is expected to carry its activities to international platforms next year.

Heydar Aliyev was commemorated

A memorial ceremony was held in the 16th year of passing away to eternity of late Heydar Aliyev in front of the Heydar Aliyev Monument in the Heydar Aliyev Park in Istanbul's Kirecburnu by the Consul General of Azerbaijan in Istanbul, Mesim Haciyev. During the ceremony where the Mayor of Sarıyer Şükrü Genç and the Azerbaijanis in Istanbul attended, the Marmara Group Foundation was present with Dr. Akkan Suver and M. Gökhan Havuzlu. On 12 December 2019, Dr. Akkan Suver wrote an article on late Heydar Aliyev's passing away to eternity.

Women's Participation in Democratic Processes Seminar

Seminars continue under the Turkish Youth and Women for Democracy Project. The opening speeches were given by the Chairwoman of the EU and Human Rights Platform Müjgan Suver and Assoc. Dr. Armağan Gözkaman at the Taksim Campus of Beykent University. During the seminar on Women's Participation in Democratic Processes, Atty. Elif Görgülü gave information about women's participation in political processes. She emphasized that women's participation in decision-making bodies throughout history has been an indispensable part of democracy. The participation and interest of Beykent University students were great in the seminar, moderated by Dr. Ezgi Cankurt.

Consulate General of the United States visited Marmara Group Foundation

Belarusian Park opened in Bakırköy

A New Year celebration was held at the French Palace of the French Consulate General by President of the Consulate Association of Istanbul, Consul General of Croatia Ivana Zerec in honor of international organizations with career diplomats and honorary consulates in Istanbul. Dr. Akkan Suver and Müjgan Suver also participated to the night which started with the speeches of the Consul General of Croatia Ivana Zerec, Doyenne Consul General Adriana Ciamba, Host, Consul General of France Bertrand Buchwalter on behalf of the Consular Association. Ambassador Murat Tamer, the Istanbul Representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, was present with his wife.
