Anniversary of Turkish Women's Choice and Election

The 5th of December represents the day on which Turkish women obtained the Right to vote and to be elected. As Marmara Group Foundation, we congratulate this high achievement that Turkish women got on December 5, 1934; we also express our thanks and gratitude’s to the 7th Government of the Republic and President Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, who brought this illusion into being.

The UAE celebrated its 46th National Day

The Consul General of the United Arab Emirates in Istanbul, Khalifa Abdurrahman Mohamed Al Marzooqi, gave a reception on the occasion of their 46th National Day. Assistant Governor İsmail Gültekin and District Governor of Başakşehir Kazım Tekin took part at the reception on behalf of the government. Besides Head of the Istanbul Chamber of Industry Erdal Bahçıvan, Board Member of TAV Mehmet Erdoğan and also foreign mission chiefs were present. The reception, which was attended by Dr. Akkan Suver on behalf of Marmara Group Foundation, lasted until late hours.

Women's Summit Successfully Completed

The "Equality, Justice and Women's Summit" was held at the Istanbul WOW Hotel on the 30th November and 1st of December 2017. Müjgan Suver, chairwoman of Marmara Group Foundation EU and Human Rights, was part of the organizational committee. Nearly 1,500 journalists, politicians, academics, and female activists participated in the meeting organized by non-governmental organizations focused on women's fight for equality and justice. 8 panels and 5 workshops were held at the Summit which was opened with the song "There are Women". There were 27 speakers with the moderators, well-known by the community. In the "Equality, Justice and Women's Summit", knowledge and expreiences were shared as well as different problems and their solutions. The conclusion report that was shared with the public at the end of the summit emphasized once more that the problem of gender equality is a problem of democracy for there will be no justice without equality. His All-Holiness Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew gave a reception

His All-Holiness Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew and the Saint Synod council gave a reception on the occasion of the Thronal Feast of St. Andrew the Apostle at the Ceylan Hotel. Visit to Chief Rabbi Izak Haleva

A committee on behalf of the Marmara Group Foundation, consisting of Dr. Akkan Suver, Engin Köklüçınar, Nuri Artok, Retired General Necdet Timur, Former Member of Parliament and Retired Ambassador Ertuğrul Kumcuoğlu, Cafer Okray and Retired Admiral Yüksel Önel visited Chief Rabbi Izak Haleva. During their visit, they presented the information about the 21st Eurasian Economic Summit to be held on April 11-13, 2018. The delegation also invited the Chief Rabbi to hold a speech at the summit to be organized next year.

General Consul of Romania to Istanbul, Adriana Ciamba celebrated the Romanian National Day with a reception at the Conrad Hotel in Istanbul. The reception that was joined by heads of foreign missions in Istanbul and high-level members of the civil and military society; in her inaugural speech, General Consul of Romania to Istanbul, Adriana Ciamba said: "the ongoing relation between Turkey and Romania continue to exist in an exceptional unity today, as it always has been." Marmara Foundation continues to visit the Ambassadors

The Marmara Group Foundation is continuing its efforts to promote the 21st Eurasian Economic Summit with visits to the Ambassadors. A delegation on behalf of the Marmara Group Foundation consisting of Dr. Akkan Suver and Şamil Ayrım has visited Poland Ambassador H.E Maciej Lang, Ambassador of Lebanon H.E. Rabıe Narsh, Embassy of Morocco Charge d'Affaires H.E. Said Ait Talebe Ali, Ambassador of Tunisian H.E. Mohamed Faycal Ben Mustapha, Ambassador of Russian Federation H.E Aleksey Yerhov and Uzbekistan Ambassador H.E. Alişer Agzamhadjev each in their offices and made presentations on the 21st Eurasian Economic Summit. Dr. Suver attended the Olive Fest of Montenegros Bar Municipality

Dr. Fatih Saraçoğlu participated at the "Levant Initiative for Global Peace through Cultural Diplomacy" that was organized from 20th to 21st of November by Emil Constantinescu, Former President of Romania (1996-2000) on behalf of the Marmara Group Foundation. On the first day, Dr. Saraçoğlu held his speech in representation of Dr. Akkan Suver, President of the Marmara Group Foundation, in the first panel of the Levantine Conference.
